Hello! My name is Jodi and I'm a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and personal trainer living in Faringdon, Oxfordshire. I have over 20 years of experience of working in the NHS: in mental health, wellbeing, health promotion, research and senior management. My career path has followed many twists and turns; I hope this makes me more relatable and grounded when it comes to working with people who need my support.
I offer both face-to-face and online therapy for young people (11+) and adults to help with a wide range of mental health problems and emotional difficulties such as depression, low self-esteem, stress, anxiety and life changes.
You may prefer to visit me in my private consulting room in central Faringdon, or we could head outside for a walk-and-talk. I'm also a qualified run coach, and have helped lots of people find a passion for walking, running, and improving their mental and physical health.
We all feel down, overwhelmed and confused from time-to-time. Life has its inevitable ups and downs and for the large part, we're pretty good at coping.
I'm qualified to help when you find that you're falling into a pattern of negative thinking, or unhelpful behaviours. These vicious cycles can lead to us feeling as though we can't cope: that every day is an uphill struggle, or is fraught with anxiety. Relationships may start to suffer, we may feel we're no good at our job, failing at school, or are struggling to make it through the day. Perhaps you just don't enjoy life as you once did, or you're constantly worrying about things that might go wrong.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help you to learn techniques to regain control over your thoughts, emotions, and the way you react to situations.
I provide a safe and non-judgemental space for you to talk. I'll listen and ask questions, but together, we will start to make sense of your struggles, and map the way forward to a happier and healthier life.
